The Rohingya Experience, is a photographic exhibition offering an intimate view into the lives and experiences of the Rohingya refugee community in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh. Curated by David Palazón and Sahat Zia Hero, the exhibition launched at the Jersey Arts Centre and was displayed across several outdoor panels in St Helier city centre between 1–14 July 2024.

A Rohingyatographer production in collaboration with Jersey Overseas Aid (JOA), this exhibition marked its European premiere in Jersey. The exhibition shines a testament into the resilience and dignity of the Rohingya people, demonstrating the transformative power of photography. This powerful medium gives voice to the stateless, offers a platform for visual storytelling, and provides a glimpse into life in the world's largest refugee camp through the eyes of Rohingya youth.

In the face of the devastating Rohingya refugee crisis that erupted in 2017, JOA played a vital role in providing crucial humanitarian assistance. One of the key organisations that JOA supports, is UNHCR, the UN’s refugee agency. Over the last five years, JOA has allocated over £1.1million to UNHCR to help bridge the current funding gap and address the massive humanitarian needs in the refugee camps. This funding helps UNHCR provide key services such as legal and community-based protection, access to health, hygiene and sanitation, nutrition support, and core relief items. JOA's ongoing commitment to the Rohingya emergency response, continues to make a profound impact, offering hope and a path forward for those who have endured unimaginable hardship.
