Hafizur Rahman, known as RB Hafizu, is a passionate visual storyteller, journalist, writer and human rights activist dedicated to amplifying the voices of the Rohingya community. His expertise spans photography, videography, documentary filmmaking, research, and advocacy, focusing on refugee rights, social justice, and the untold stories of his community. Through his work, he captures the resilience of displaced communities, sheds light on human rights violations, and contributes to global awareness.

 

Born in 1998 in Kuwasong Village, Northern Maungdaw, Arakan State, Myanmar, RB Hafizu was forced to flee to Bangladesh in 2017 due to escalating violence. Despite the challenges of life in the world’s largest refugee camp, he pursued his passion for storytelling, working as a Humanitarian Worker with UNHCR from 2017 to 2021 and later as a Community Health Worker under GK-UNHCR. He serves his community for educating and raising awareness about health issues within a community.

 

His commitment to education, journalism, and creative media has made him a key figure in documenting the Rohingya experience.

 

Since 2022, Hafizu has been deeply immersed in photography, Videography, Video Editing driven by his interest for untold story of Rohingya People. He remarks, "Photography is more than just capturing moments, I love capturing photos because photos don't lie and they show the reality of people, it’s about telling untold stories, giving voice to the unheard, and preserving the truth through his lens."

 

RB Hafizu's dedication to advocacy extends beyond storytelling. He is an active social human rights activist, engaging in grassroots efforts for justice, environmental sustainability, and refugee welfare. In 2024, His work with Rohingya Human Rights Network, ASAN TV, and Rohingya Khobor highlights his commitment to media-driven advocacy.

 

A skilled multimedia professional, RB Hafizu is proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Photoshop, InDesign, and other editing software. His photography has earned recognition, including an award from Rohingyatographer for his impactful visuals. He has also worked voluntarily as a video editor since 2022, collaborating on various media projects.

 

Beyond his creative work, RB Hafizu is an educator, having taught refugee students since 2017. He is currently preparing for the IELTS exam, aiming to further his education and enhance his advocacy efforts. His aspirations include becoming a professional interpreter to bridge communication gaps for his community.

 

In RB Hafizu’s words: "Every frame I capture tells a story of resilience. My mission is to document the truth, amplify silenced voices, and fight for the dignity of my people."
