Rohingyatographer invites Rohingya photographers, writers and visual storytellers to join Human Rights & Human Wrongs, a 30-week course and practice-based learning programme exploring Visual Storytelling and Human Rights.
What it is
From mid-January to September 2026, we will explore the 30 Articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights — one article per week — through short, practice-based lessons and weekly photo assignments. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), adopted by the United Nations in 1948, sets out 30 basic rights and freedoms that belong to every person. These articles cover everything from food, safety, education and equality, to freedom of expression and protection from discrimination. Participants will learn by doing in their own time: each week you will receive a brief and an example, create your work in the field, and submit it for editorial feedback. Selected pieces will be paid and published in Rohingyatographer Issue #4: The Human Rights Issue, launching in winter 2026.

Who can apply
We are looking for up 50 Rohingya participants (25 women, 25 men). No professional experience is required, only commitment and curiosity. We welcome applicants who have basic access to a smartphone or camera and are willing to participate in weekly online sessions (1 hour in the evening) and occasional weekend workshops in the camps.
Course structure
30 x weeks of assignments — weekly online session, practice-based assignment and submission.
8 x online masterclasses led by Rohingya and international experts (names TBC) and professionals in photography, journalism, social design, psychology, human rights, ...
2 x weekend intensive workshop to be attended in-person in the camps.

Students who complete the course will receive a certificate of completion and a copy of the publication.
